Hi guys,

Considering buying a new mobile recently after having a crappy old LG for a while. I broke the screen on it though so I now have an excuse to buy a new phone.

I've looked at the Orange San Francisco and I like the look of them, are they good phones without having to mess about with ROMs as I'm not into that sort of stuff really.

Cheers

They are fine assuming you are on orange and can live with the branding. However using sebastians debranding rom from over at modaco is so easy it is a crime not to and it will run quicker.

I found mine a bit laggy with the orange stuff but perfectly usable.

probably better. In terms of speed anyway. Some people don't find the browser that great at zoom in out. However, plenty of 3rd part browsers available in the appstore. Opera, Dolphin HD, etc

Plus, Orange are doing £110 cashback at the mo. Hmm, I wonder how that would work out!!! :D

Only on contracts.

Re-web browsing, I do a lot on mine and you have pinch to zoom, auto resizing, and due to the excellent screen res you can read text even when well zoomed out.

I prefer the stock browser to Opera Mini.

Better screen res would actually make the text harder to read as it would be rendered smaller. Pinch to zoom is fine, but double tap is quicker and actually improves battery life as you are not overworking CPU. :)
