minimum legal water temperature

It's not always as simple as finding the boiler and adjusting the settings, UNITE supply student accomodation and I imagine the last thing they want to do is give a bunch of students access to things like the boiler :p

Ask your landlord, if he's funny about it. Then write a letter and say you'll start paying rent again when the shower can produce hot water..

All cuboards, which hold the utility pips are locked. and in the kitchen I cant see where one could be stored =[

http://www.unite-students.com/ It's this company incase your wondering.

Basically it's been the same since I moved in, complained many times and they are waiting for a new part to arrive -__- Even went one week with freezing cold shower after claiming they were able to increase it slightly. Week later I complained and got the key to a spare room in the flat.
But now this shower is getting colder and colder- which i guess could be due to the cold weather.

with our shower it gets colder in the winter so if i run the cold tap its warmer and if i only open up the shower tap slightly it seams to only let warm water out.

Mine broke from end of Oct to just before Christmas last year.
Unite are crap

Edit; when it was working it was best to get one early, was much warmer!

so its not just that the water isnt quite warm enough, the hot water for the shower is broken and they cant fix it.

Nothing you can do to force their hand, short of finding somewhere else / not paying rent.

You do realise that in unite buildings you can open the 'locked' cupboards with an alan key or similar? Just open them up and see if everything is turned on. We used to always be mucking about with the fuse box and heating switches in our flat.

Failing that just ask maintenance for help.

they've already been in and fiddled with it several times - think its gone past that.

NEWS FLASH!!
a scotsman complaining somethings to cold!!!

& i thought they were all tough and could take a wee bit of cold, unlike us soft southern nanceys

(yes I do live in the south of england)

If you don't have adaquate hot water..... phone up and demand that it's fixed.

If not - then complain to your Uni. If you pay decent money for your home, flat or accomodation and the basic ammeinties aren't supplied - then do something about it.

Your Landlord is making a living out of your lazyness. And the longer you go without heated water - the more money you are saving him. I honestly can't believe people In this day and age people will go without warm water - simply because they are to afraid to complain or raise a fuss about something they have paid for.

Just remember - you - YES YOU..... are the house owners investment. And most of the money you pay him (yes that hard earned money you earned and had to work hard for) is going into his investments/savings for his retirement. He Isn't using it to save the world or stop crime...... It's just for him - for HIM to have a nicer lifestyle ;)
