Call of Duty: Black Ops

anyone noticing (ps3) that the fps performance is a lot worse than mw2 in the sp mode? not played mp yet...

On the £40 game all about being multiplayer. That's what COD/MW games have always been about. Yes they have had some fantasic SP stories but essentially it's always been about the MP side of the game.

unless he's on veteran difficulty, as i am...

it is very hard, you'll die about 20-30 times trying to get between checkpoints quite a lot.
 
Loved the first level of the SP, second level was a bit mental, just having a small break to pay the g/f some attention before I'm going back in :D

I agree, it does judder when it gets busy - would have thought they could have optimised it so it wouldnt -it can ruin the game in places, esp in MP

I am playing on Hardened. I never play games on their easiest settings as it's a waste of money completing a game. I want to unlock the Zombies part quickly though to play with mates so not playing on Vet until I have completed the SP on Hardened.

If he is playing on Vet which I doubt he is. Then if it's too hard you would simply drop down a difficulty setting if it was so hard it was ruining the game for you. Only makes sense.

Fine for me on single player. Dropped below 60 maybe 3-4 times and i'm about half way through the game, runs much better than MW2 imo.

so, you've not died on veteran difficulty? mate, i've played every CoD game this is the worst for insta aim enemies, even in the thick of comabt i cant peep out from cover without getting my head taken off. it's bullcrap. i completed MW2 on veteran in a single sitting, i've completed CoD4 on veteran and WaW, no problems, enen with the grenade spam and respawning enemies on the previous versions i've never got *this* mad with the game.

Screw this game. Im gonna put it away till they fix the FPS and lag issue for ps3. They should have also put a level cap on buying claymores since most douches just camp with a claymore sticking out of their arse.

So you are telling me that COD/MW games have always been solely about the SP side of play. :rolleyes: Nice that you back that up with facts.

And I was only joking about the price of the game. You have to admit though that is a good price :p

And if you are rage quitting on Vet you obviously aren't good enough to play on that setting. Maybe you should drop it to normal for a bit :p

i found that on vet,there running and shooting you,yet you cannot sprint and shoot,you sneak around the corner and a guy is standing there bang bang your dead,i am gonna just put on normal and just finish the story.then get drop shotted on multiplayer over and over
 
In MW2 there was "Spec Ops" that could be played online as 2 players or offline split screen.

What is there similar in Black Ops for 2 people to play (offline and online). And do I have to faff around unlocking stuff (I am sure someone said you need to unlock this zombie mode?).

When you choose which mode you wanna do (sp, nazi zom, mp). Tap LT and RT constantly. This breaks you free from the chair, look around for a computer, type in 'DOA' and you unlock 'Dead ops'

re-read what i've wrote, games should be a mix of both, cod games have been a mix of both, this game (so far) does not feel like it is

again, stop trolling, i'm not the only one who's finding this, maybe you should try veteran, stretch yourself instead of sitting in your comfort zone?

Most FPS games have a focus on MP, and have as far back as I can remember (certainly back to Doom/Quake days).

Maybe MP is the same as previous games, but at the worst you've paid £40 for a bunch of new maps, new skins, new weapons and new game modes. Bearing in mind how much DLC costs nowadays, I don't think that's actually that bad.

If you really object to the MP focus, there's plenty of decent SP games that'll give you hours upon hours of enjoyment - maybe you should try something like Fallout or Dragon Age.
