You should have bought an old banger then, or kept it in a glass cabinet.

As an alternative, I would suggest scratching it against the gate post on the driver side. That way it will look even and you won't have to repair it

If it's just the door you should be able to get if filled / sprayed for about £200, £300 at the most.

Shop around and get a few quotes, they can vary wildly.
