Call of Duty: Black Ops

Is anyone on PS3 getting pretty dire framerates on the online maps(Haven't tried single player yet). I have only tried the top 4 maps with bots but they are all pretty pants for a fps. I thought cod games ran at 60fps this honestly feels like 20-25 maybe lower sometimes.

Now my brother on the other hand has an xbox and everything is silky smooth and I could swear it even looks better. What happened to cod games being basically the same on each console? Is Microsoft bribing them or something to make it better on one system because the graphics aren't great anyway. It wouldn't surprise me if they were.:(

I'm pretty disappointed because for me almost ruins the experience.

mines hasnt come from tesco either.

and got this from another forum

"I just called Tesco Entertainment as my preorder (from August!) still hasn't arrived. they said that they'd been 'let down by their 3rd party distributers' and that it was out of their hands. Basically it's TNT and/or Royal Mail's fault and they are washing their hands of them for future release date orders. Doesn't help me though, as I'm still Blops-less."

i picked up a copy from shop now but im gonna sell the tesco one soon as it arrives. im never using tesco again.

Sounds like Tesco are a no go for any preorders, as I have seen countless posts on multiple games about problems.

I certainly won't be touching them.

Tesco haven't delivered mine. Was a bit annoyed yesterday but now I'm past that and I'm actually angry that I can't play a game lol

LOL, basically how I will feel in 5 hours if it is not waiting for me!! Calling them up and whinging will make you feel better, or sending then an angry e-mail (I did both!!)

My Xbox360 copy came from Tesco, which was ordered Monday, today.

My PC version however, which I pre-ordered 3 months ago still hasn't turned up .... bizarre.

Had a quick blast on the game, pretty good so far, very much a similar feel to MW2 with respect to Multiplayer. Also had a few laughs as people gave me a good hiding with the remote control cars, much lol going on :p

first one i did because it was next day from the rainforest, second i didn't (tesco one) got a returns label included which is useful

COD Forums:

I just sat and told you that the intent was to reduce soundwhoring overall ... not ruin the game for you personally and render your fancy headset worthless. You think I don't play with a headset?

I am going to show you the difference between a post that will help your cause and one that won't.

You said:
It's stupid how i can't tell where somebody is running just because people hated other people using their sense of hearing.

You should have said:
One of the things I really like is how Call of Duty had rewarded players who use their hearing. Unfortunately, in Black Ops, footsteps are mixed very low in volume compared to previous games making it difficult to predict where people are.

You could have then gone on to give some reference of games that, in your opinion, do it well. You could explain the issues succinctly and then politely signed off.

I am paying attention to this sound thread and the feedback about the sound in the game. But I am going to stop the minute people start "demanding" something or are rude.

I currently believe that Black Ops has a great overall mix, but we need to look at how the sound is working with sound based Perks like Ninja. When you play the game and ALL you hear are footsteps? That is not good either.

Anything we do here is not going to happen overnight, we have to make changes (if any) carefully, and not everyone will be happy. I can tell you right now it won't ever be "exactly like MW2." Even if we agreed that it should be (and we don't) we have very different audio technologies and audio design.

Viva la sound department.

Oh dear. I am so glad I haven't spent serious dollar on headsets considering this games use of sound.

Anyone else really surprised by this?

I'm surprised about all the problems re: Tesco's orders. How can they be so slow, especially I wandered into Tesco Extra (Portsmouth) last night after work - 6pm ish - and they had many many copies of the game (inc. the microsoft points).

TBH it sounds more like Tesco sent all the pre-orders out, with orders to keep them held, with delivery on Tuesday, and then the delivery people messed up, or didn't realise how many they would have to deliver.

Mine that I ordered Monday, dispatched at 7pm, arrived first thing this morning via normal RM.

So, IMHO Tesco did everything they could, it's the courier you should be angry at.

I just think treyarch had the chance of making a great game and basically wrapping up the cod franchise, and I just think they have been really lazy , ye they have added new features but I think they haven't improved any from there last game.I think it's actually worse then waw

Oh well. I do find it surprising but I'll adapt. It does some great through a headset but its certainly not an advantage like it was. I'm working on getting ninja pro so that will go a long way in sorting it.

Do you have the link to that thread mate? I'd like to read the quackings

my order from shopto arrived today. Not going to open it tho, its going back whats the point pre-ordering?
