Going to Vienna tomorrow - recommendations?

I've looked at a guide book and so on, of course, but I'd like to see if any ocukers who know Vienna have suggestions? I'm particularly interested in good restaurants.

Pürstner without a doubt - best Wienerschnitzel in town.

Smutny's on Elisabethstrasse is a very good traditional Viennese restaurant. I think the Christkindlmärkte should be infront of the town hall by now and is definately worth nosing around!

edit: oh and have a Kasse Kreiner from one of the stands for me... God i miss those!

I had been to Berlin before Vienna, so I had little money when I got there. There are loads of good places on the outskirts (cheap but nice, like pizza and stuff)

Oh forgot to mention, definitely go to the war museum they have. Can't remember exactly where it is, but it's called the arsenal or something like that, there is a good food place there as well

Do you mean the museum that has a big 'border' round the building? That was a brilliant museum!

Brezlgwölb on Ledererhof (just off Judenplatz, about 5 or 10 minutes' walk from the river) is lovely. Very cosy and serves excellent food

Definitely check out the Weihnachtsmarkt at the town hall too, if it's there. And check out the Schönbrunn.

Yey, I've been there!

Pretty decent food.

I don't know if the Christmas market type stuff will be on yet but if it is that's worth a look.

Apart from that just walking around the city looking at some of the incredible buildings will keep you occupied for some time.
