I've just had to RMA a GTX 470 frozr for a refund, and OCuk dont stock that card anymore, so I cant replace it with the same.
I paid £240 for it, so I'm looking at spending the same again on a new GPU, what would you guys advise?

(I have a silverstone fortress ft02, which favours reference cooler designs which blow how air out of the case)

thanks
Jimmy

I advice you to wait and see what the 69** cards are like from AMD, the only thing you could replace the 470 with would be another 470 or a 6870.

Jimmy, what screen resolution do you game at? . . . and what games do you play?

I run dual monitors on an i7 950 system with 12gb ram
I will be using it mainly for graphical work
the games i play atm are sc2 and wow, though i like to have peace of mind knowing i can play any game if i should want to.

I know it must be killing you with that system sat there idle :( but if it was me, I would wait a couple more weeks to know I got the best for my money.
It isn't what you want to hear but it is the most sensible thing do.

Get a cheap as **** card from local PC shop, say an 8400 GS for 25 cash and then wait two weeks. Your choice. By then the GTX 580's might lower to sensible prices.
