The AI seems to be taking the PL squad restrictions too literally. If a player can't be registered than it looks to dump the player ASAP. Its a bug.

The AI seems to be taking the PL squad restrictions too literally. If a player can't be registered than it looks to dump the player ASAP. Its a bug.
That's a bug too - the registration deadline is before the transfer window closes so all deals finishing at the end of the deadline day are after you name your squad - really annoying.

Just beat Inter 1-0 away! Scored in the 3rd minute, then what followed could only be described as a massacre, 1 red card each, 7 yellows (I desperately told my team to ease off to keep ten men on the pitch!) Survived an absolute barrage second half and somehow came out with 3 points and a clean sheet. Couple that with a 1-1 draw against 3rd placed Roma and the season has started pretty well!

This Camara is becoming a fantastic signing though, scoring and assists.
they won it on mine too, chelsea ended the league with 0 wins from the last 8.

Spurs are 11th so far in mine. Birmingham are second!
I tend to agree, it absolutely must be a bug, I dont care how much the wages are, there is no way that a manager would let someone like Babel or Richards go for £0 if they could get even just £1 million for them. There simply has to be a glitch somewhere in either the calculations or the AI if the AI is willing to let players go for £0 like that.
Anyone know any good tactics to play with a 4-5-1 formation (1 dm, 2 cm, 2 wingers and a striker)?
so far i've got the DM operating as a deep play maker
one cm as an attacking playmaker
one cm as a box to box
the two wingers are unfortunately relatively slow (11 and 13 for pace/acceleration)
so far i had a storming pre-season but have been getting torn apart in the championship. also i have no budget and no one decent will join me on loan. should i change round the CM system, or do you think it's whorthwhile going back to a 442?

I'm playign that formation against the big boys. I have the DMC set as a DMC defense, one of the MC's as box to box and the other as ball winning support. Then I have both wingers as inside forward attack and the striker as either complete forward attack or advanced forward attack (Although it really depends on what sort of forward you have) Then I play the counter attack setting.

so any tipps for a newb?
probably gonna play with either Reading or my hometown from germay which is like in the 4th division or something if they're ingame ^^

wolves fans are angry with me for selling stearman who has been in my reserves for two seasons. Though half way through the season he is at leeds with 16 games and a 8.5 rating. Im thinking i made a mistake.
If anyone still plays 08 or maybe 07 i cant remember but sign a player Goran Slavkovski from inter. Always turns out to be the top scorer and golden boot winner. Shame i think he was actually rubbish in real life and i dont think exists in the game anymore.

Nah, not at 1-0. It was more the penalty I was annoyed about.

Is there a formation that most use? I started with Leeds and no formation is working
The FM ME usually favours a certain formation, anyone worked out what it is??
Don't keep changing it as the players just cant settle. You'll want to look at the preparation screen and see how familiar the players are with you tactics. At first they are all like "wtf" no matter what formation you choose.

Well I'm playing my 4-4-2 with two advanced wingers playing as inside forwards. Just copied it over from last year. Hasn't been as effective yet but the team does need time to adjust.
