1366 board complate with ES chips

Hi Guys,

Just got my hands on a cheap L5640 CPU, downside is that it is an engineering sample so I have to be carefull with what board I buy.

Can anyone suggest a board that will work with an ES chip that also gives good overclocking features?

Any board that supports gulftown will do. Rampage 2 extremes were used to OC these things not too long back so something like that would be ideal.

Hi Andy so any board that supports the unlocked gulftowns will support an ES CPU?

Are the dual QPI link chips ok in single socket boards then?

Not really sure, don't intend to use the CPU in a dual combination just on its own. I know its possible as the chap I bought the chip from is using a desktop board (probably should have asked him which, doh!).

Ahh it appears they are fine on a lot of x58 boards, possibly look for one that has it on thier CPU support list to be sure.

They are fine.

I run a X5680 in my UD9 no problem.
