Hey hey!
I don´t know whether its the right topic, but I need a good (and trustable) electrician in Sheffield!I´ve decidet to make a "gaming room" from my oversized storage room - The only problem is that the only outlet in the "room" is broken - every time I use it,I have a power failure :( .

So does anyone know a good electrician in/near Sheffield?

Thanks!

Hey!
Maybe I should tell you that I had bad experience with several "online offers". I always try to use local companies - so I was hoping that someone can recommend a good electrician.
But okay, maybe there is no other way. I found in the net myhammer . It seems to be similar to ratedpeople.com and checkatrade.
Has anyone tried one of the pages? Wich one is "the best"?

Thanks!

Assuming your live/work in the Sheffield area ask your colleagues and neighbours they are much more likely to know a good local tradseman than asking on a random geeks forum!

Sadly an electrician is the only thing I can't recomend as I've never used any!

I put a quote for installing some extra power sockets on myhammer - cheapest was £300 or something daft.

Looked at yellowpages - found nearest electrician (about 4 streets away) - £160

Yeah, thats true but I just moved to Sheffield.
So everything is quite new for me :( .
I've searched over the weekend and found similar offers in the yellow pages,on myhammer,ratedpeople.com and checkatrade.

The deals seemed to be more or less the same - only small deviations.
But I read on the internet that the costs can exceed the estimate quickly. So I found on myhammer some electricians with a "flatrade offer". You have to pay for example £200 for a special work. No more, no less.

Could that be a possibility?

I put also a qoute on ratedpeople and checkatrade. Let´s see what kind of offers Ill get :D

Thanks guys!

Post it on mybuilder.co.uk

Found the people on Myhammer to be pretty expensive. Atleast with mybuilder you can read their feedback to see what people have said on previous work they have done.
