Do you recognise these student rioters?

Wonder how many of the people doing the rioting were actually students.

And I completely agree with Knives there.

Knives - peaceful protest would be nice, eh?

It was until a handful of people decided to ruin it. Though you can ask if a 'peaceful' protest ever works.

Revolution is a messy process. The only disgusting element here are the Tories and their LibDem whipping boys trying to divert attention away from robbing students and jacking fees up, by focusing on an extremely small rowdy minority.

People complain that we never rise up and do something, that we roll over as a British people, about when the government forces unpopular decisions on us, yet they'll just as quickly moan about action.

Make your mind up. I've seen so many people (especially on this forum) praising the French who take no prisoners, yet when students act passionately about a real case of unfairness and petty penny-pinching that has the potential for real damage, you all decry it

Hypocrites.

There are lots of things the Government do that I do not like, saying that I don't force my way into a building and commit mindless acts of violence and wilful damage.

Well done to all the students.
We need more passion in this country!

Anything that sticks the middle finger up at the instituation gets my backing!

I've made the point that it was a small minority, in the exact same post. However, I fully expect people to selectively ignore that, so I'll let you off.

So you demonstrate by Destroying and stealing other peoples property ?

No one forces anyone to go to uni and pay the fees?

Most people think they are/were out of order.

We face tough times and there is only one party who should be getting blamed and thats Labour

Sometimes anger boils over as these students are part of the same country that cameron is running atm and it is an understandable frustration especially for young people unless government/employers can provide alternatives.

It will cost the state a lot to put them in jail. Certainly over budget already as far as I'm aware.

I don't care about the cost of prison. The costs need to go up, so we have lower reoffending rates and much much better rehabilitation programs. That way you reduce the cost across the board in the long run.

How is it understandable. Most people including most of the protestors there, didn't feel the need to destroy property.

When they get kicked out of Uni for doing this, they wont have to worry about how much it costs these days.

I was so disappointed when the guy that kicked the window in and had the massive pane land on him escaped completely unscathed.

I shouldnt laugth but im not feeling well at all AND after the hmrc robbing me of £20 today I think its time to be silly!

Some of the mugshots make me laugth! The lad with the office chair and police hat reminds me of John Belushi and the film he was in, Animal House lol.

Also monday night we had some local bobbies turn up at around 10pm handing out flyers looking for a local student who had gone missing. It didnt dawn on me until a while later that no wonder he was missing! He was off to the riots and his parents got paranoid.

How will the changes even effect current students??

On the other hand, there's nothing saying that these rioters aren't students. There are dicks at University too, I wouldn't be surprised.
