Do you recognise these student rioters?

Not in any of those photo's no, but apparently one of our Student Association committee members is in a photo of the 'front line' of students vs. police guarding the windows :o

Yea lets all go and smash the place up cus we're all effected by the spending cuts too yer know! No ones making them go out and get further education, why should I pay extra for some snotty **** to do a art or similar crap degree and **** up the rest of it?

How is it understandable. Most people including most of the protestors there, didn't feel the need to destroy property.

Well there are bound to be trouble makers at the protest who broke through the property. Upon seeing this, some of the peaceful protesters must have joined aswell as they must have thought that by doing so, they would be making more of an impact.

What impact do you think it will have?

Will the policy be reversed, no. If they did think the policy would be reversed then maybe, just maybe, they shouldn't be attending university.

Hey I might be able to pull some good from this! Let them all smash things up. People who are forced to work for their dole will have a job fixing it all!

Apparently a candidate who ran for the President of my Union assaulted a police medic. It's shocking this would happen but it's more shocking for a Scottish student, who isn't effected, is getting involved for the sole reason to assault people.
He is a right pillock though, so nothing surprises me. It was on the news yesterday, but can't seem to find the clip. Apparently it was inside the building, and he stole their hat and assaulted them.

Just the usual lib-dem, floppy haired sort with nothing else on. The police should have got the tear gas/soap out.

Revolution is a messy process. The only disgusting element here are the Tories and their LibDem whipping boys trying to divert attention away from robbing students and jacking fees up, by focusing on an extremely small rowdy minority.

People complain that we never rise up and do something, that we roll over as a British people, about when the government forces unpopular decisions on us, yet they'll just as quickly moan about action.

Make your mind up. I've seen so many people (especially on this forum) praising the French who take no prisoners, yet when students act passionately about a real case of unfairness and petty penny-pinching that has the potential for real damage, you all decry it

Hypocrites.

You seem to be missing a major thing, Labour has just spent 8 year robbing these students of their future, Libdem/Conservative coalition is simply having to deal with replacing the stolen money, nothing more or less.

Labour lent all this money out already, if the books don't balance, uni's will shut down, NHS will shut down, police will shut down, then what will you do?

The rises are too big, but caused by the utterly scandalous handling of the economy and the education system as a whole by Labour. UNlike Labour we have a party in charge who are FACING UP TO THE PROBLEM, rather than loading MASSIVE DEBT onto these same students who would under Labour be eventually working at huge taxation, into their 70's/80's to pay for all the truly ridiculous spending Labour want to do now.

YOu're just another one of these people who aren't thinking about the future at all.

5 expensive tight years now are INFINATELY better than, in 50 years losing all ability to sell our debt, and have 50 horrible, broken, downtrodden, no help years in the future.

THe problem with people like you, and these students, is they can't think about the future, its just now now now. Not great now, or truly horrific in the future, those ARE your two options, theres no other option, we can't just keep spending, increasing year on year, the world economy will not support the UK doing that, if China stops buying our debt, thats it, game over, everything shuts down indefinately.
