Do you recognise these student rioters?

Revolution is a messy process. The only disgusting element here are the Tories and their LibDem whipping boys trying to divert attention away from robbing students and jacking fees up, by focusing on an extremely small rowdy minority.

People complain that we never rise up and do something, that we roll over as a British people, about when the government forces unpopular decisions on us, yet they'll just as quickly moan about action.

Make your mind up. I've seen so many people (especially on this forum) praising the French who take no prisoners, yet when students act passionately about a real case of unfairness and petty penny-pinching that has the potential for real damage, you all decry it

Hypocrites.

You get a thumbs up from me :-)

I don't condone violent protest and I'd never encourage it, but I entirely understand why it happens and if that the way others want to protest then fine.

Looking at some of the pictures being student is no barrier to owning a nice DSLR.

Of course, I mean it'd spoil your rhetoric if they were actually just press photographers or people who'd come along to take photos, wouldn't it? Naturally, the photographers seen in the photos – student or not – are representative of the student population of the UK in its entirety, as are the rioters. This makes them delightfully easy to lampoon, doesn't it?

Fun fact: the students occupying Millbank Tower made up about 0.4% of the total protest turnout. Of course, the spotlight's on them and so the peaceful majority can conveniently be ignored.

Here is a simple suggestion why dont you write to your MP telling them that if they dont vote down or protest loudly at this move you and the other students will be voting them out of office, how many students on your campuses?

My MP is Labour, and I've never voted for him anyway
The main opposition to him is LD, and I'd never vote for them either as they have far too many left policies.

Tories don't really stand much of a chance here

We are in this mess with university funding for just that reason. Too many people doing **** degrees at **** universities and never actually using that degree to benefit the economy.

I really wish that people who rage against the fee rise had to justify their views rather than just voicing them. The last generation didnt have this is not an argument. (p.s. This isnt aimed at rypt)

As I said earlier, the government should fully pay for anyone who gets a 2:1 or above in a STEM subject at a good Uni, with some funding going towards lower unis, lower grades or other courses.

Can somebody tell me what a rubbish degree is? Surely other then manual labour every sector needs a more educated workforce? Sure the job they go into might not need it but in the long term if they want to progress with there career then a degree will help.

I actually like the fact that they protested but then once they start smashing up my country they lose my support.
I had to laugh at the pics though, Clear as day I bet they are crapping themselves about now. :D

To compare a group of students being uphappy about having to pay for the privelage of going to university, to a revolution is about stupid as it gets.

They needed Gazza there to try to defuse it, either that or Northumberland Police should have sent some tazers and CS gas down.

I personally would have had a water cannon / CS gas and tazers on standby and I would have ordered them to ruin them there and then.

"Due to the Student Riots and the damage expenses, tuition fees have now been raised from £9000 to £9001 per year until the balance is cleared"
