Do you recognise these student rioters?

are you suggesting that people aligned to other parties would agree with the violence then ?

Nope.

But how everyone seems to think it's fine to charge students three times the current rate despite having their University education for free.

And how violence from a small minority is blown out of all proportions by the media yet again and the real point of the protest is lost.

As Hatter The Mad and the such know, the real point is more boring that "exciting" images of smashed windows.

It's funny how when some students smash up Tory HQ it's all "hangings too good for 'em, they should be skinned alive and dropped in salt, then birched". Yet when the Bullingdon Club smash up a restaurant it's all "student high jinx, chaps will be chaps, a bit of fun that got out of hand".

The current system is uaffordable.

What would you propose James ?

I agree the current system is unaffordable, I don't have the answers but something must be up when Lecturers and Heads of Universities are unhappy with the plans.

It just seems to have all been rushed through without any FULL consultation with Universities and Students together.

Why not have some form of communication between all parties rather than a simple report by Lord Browne?

The report by Lord Browne seems to have been hastily put together considering it will have impact of students for the rest of their lives possibly.

since when was that true, you have to love the anti torie spin. youll find lots of us dont like the plans but violence is never warrented at a protest

Rather ironically the various students/wannabe photo journalists running around with DSLRs haven't done any favours for the little anarchist webbles smashing windows.

Personally I'm undecided on the fees issue but smashing up a building is pointless and chucking a fire extinguisher off the roof is beyond retarded. I really do hope they catch the guy who threw it and his prison sentence is long enough to screw up his degree - he was quite literally only a couple of feet away from potentially killing someone.

They tend to get their cheque book out afterwards... charges dropped, restaurant owners more than compensated etc..etc..

perhaps because its part of the event and damages are paid for.

Great, so if you're rich the law doesn't apply. You can pay your way out of any bind. I thought we lived in a first world democracy under the rule of law and not a third-world, feudal society.
