I don't see it as being used. Someone who has no contact at all for that length and sleet return contact, yes that's wrong. But that's not what the op has said.

At least you have decided to drop that person completely, it's the sensible thing to do if you aren't man enough to talk about it and move on.
 
i'm not saying i'd drop him as a friend but he can't expect to slot back in like nothing had happened, he's oblivous to the fact that i might think that. i can't see how a person would not think that? it is definitely within the 'being used' category
 
A group of friends, people come and go. Is this not the case? Or is he your only friend?

If he is oblivious why haven't you spoken to him about it? Surely this is a god send of an offering for you to tell him that you are not happy about it?

Yes I am in a relationship, eight years and counting and I still see my freinds and socialize regularly. Anyone that stops seeing there friends because of a new girl on the go isn't in my opinion much of a friend.

On topic, it would depend OP what kind of a friend he was to you before the relationship. If he was one of your best mates then give him another chance, but if he has always used you as company inbetween relationships then I wouldn't be that bothered about him tbh.

one of my best mates, still is but as i said, it's no excuse and if he thinks he can just breeze right on back in, he's mistaken. i do not see how anyone can think this is acceptable? and no, he's not my only friend, if any of my other friends did this, i'd react the same
 
OP is a wet blanket.

It'd probably be a really lame drink, talking about shoes and boys and such, you're doing the other guy a favour. Unless he likes to see you in a dress.
