Caiman attacks wildlife presenter

Even with all the knowledge and planning in the world there's always a risk involved when working with wild animals.

knowledge and planning? you kicked the thing about 3 times :p

I like that dude - he's a great presenter. I thoroughly enjoy the programs he does. Last one was that Tiger one in Tibet. Excellent stuff.

fuuuuuuuuuuuuu! don't watch the vid early in the morning i wasn't hoping for that.. freaked me out for me some reason lol

I like that presenter, best video of him is on youtube, he takes part in a ritual involving bullet ants, fair play to him because it looks horrible.

Serves him right...it says his horse was spooked by what he thought was a snake so he jumped down to catch it.

I'm sick of these people interferring with wild animals, if they really cared about them they wouldn't be putting them under the stress of catching them, they would observe from a distance.

Pillock!

There is something to be said for education and conservation.

You clearly know very little about the wetlands and pampas of Argentina. It's impossible to see through even 2" of the water there, hence or presenter friend being tagged by a Caiman. You can't "just observe" underwater animals there, including the Anaconda which inhabits the plains.

The traditional method is to walk barefoot in the slurry, feeling with your toes as you go. Once you hit snake skin, you feel towards the head and hope you catch it, before it catches you. :)

They are measured, tagged, weighed and re-released so we can then track them without interference. Conservation > a bit of stress from handling.
