I got as far as

"about ready for ....... something something something .... haha"

Txt speak doesnt bother me when its small things like "u" but I certainly wouldnt use txt speak in an official capacity. I drop them in emails if I know the person well enough.

The world keeps developing and new stuff comes an goes. Hopefully this will phase out. Somehow I doubt it though.
 
Want to know the worst thing?

My mum uses text speak in her text messages. It drives me nuts trying to decypher her cryptic messages.

I don't. These days unlimited texts and texts bundles are cheap. Also predictive texting makes typing normally easier than forcing words that are wrong.

If anyone I have added on facebook started posting messages like that, they would be instantly deleted. It drives me insane reading messages in text speech :(
 
Always found it easier to write normally, occasionaly missing out a few letters when it makes sense. I agree "txt spk" is kinda stupid, never been quicker either.

Thinks that I shouldn't have to start work until roughly 10, then finish at 4 lol. Would be a lot better than half past 8 until 6 I think.

That would be my translation. I'm certainly not perfect at spelling and grammar, but can't stand this type of "txt spk" either! I use a hybrid... ur instead of your... 4 instead of for etc.
 
Well its today world. All kids do it, carried on from the days before we had unlimited texts and only 160 characters per text screen. Say as much as you in a the limited 160 character space. One day it will go away with technology moving on and people will start using full English again. But in most case people cant be bothered to use full words as its takes too long.
 
Have you noticed that it's only our generation, generation-x that doesn't use it?
My parents use it, my daughter uses it, but none of my friends or anyone else I know of approximately my age does.
