diablo type games

Do you mean like, dungeon crawling rpg's? Or the camera angle etc? I'm not entirely sure if there are any exactly like it, but on the ps3 you could look at a game called Demon Souls? The warning for that game though is it is very challenging at times and will punish you any chance it gets! Such that, if you die, it will make the enemies tougher. But it's learning experience, the game will train you to get good.
Still oddly enjoyable though and the setting is pretty nice, so go ahead and take a look at some videos for that to see if it's what you're looking for :).

I can only comment on the vids I've seen, but DeathSpank on the ps3 looks like fun, and I'm a big Diablo fan. Its on the Playstation store. May be a bit cartoony though!
 
i would also suggest demon's souls as its still my game of the generation so far.

yes it can be difficult but its also fair, you only get punished if you make a mistake (apart from on the boss but you can call in other players to help you with this).

it also has one of the best online systems ive seen giving you the option to invade other peoples games as black phantoms but you may also get invaded yourself when your living and it creates a lot of tension.

i sold it after i completed it and its still one of the games im tempted with when i see it in the game shops as id love to play through again.

Also look into Dragon Age:Origins its a dungeon crawling RPG in which you control one character in a party of 4 (other controlled by a system similar to FFXII gambits system) which is possibly my second best game this generation, it got a lot of criticism on consoles as its better on PC but its by no means a bad port.

Neither have the isometric view of diablo but both are dungeon crawlers that are completely different from each other
 
Too Human was my first thought when I saw thread title, but pretty sure that was a 360 exclusive - and received mixed reviews.

Demons Souls is great, but very hard. Definitely not for the faint-hearted.
 
The nearest good (and this is a massive understatement here) game to Diablo is Demon's Souls, and they're still very different games.

You should get it anyway, simply by virtue of Demon's Souls being the greatest game to come out for this generation, bar none.
 
death spank and its sequal thongs of virtue is just like diablo but with a mad sense of humour instead of the foreboding atmosphere.

saving baby dragons in diapers from vicious chickens etc lol
 
For the Wii, Monster Hunter Tri is the most obvious choice, and as these games are based off Phantasy Star Online (Itself a 3D Diablo-style game), see if you can manage to get Phantasy Star Online Episodes I & II from the GameCube if you've never played it before.
 
Oblivion is not really a loot based dungeon crawler because

1. the loot is ****, the only magic items in the game are in fixed locations really

2. the dungeons are ****, outside is much better.
