Call of Duty: Black Ops

shoot in the back.

And that right there sums up this game and how to play it. you don't need Ninja or any special perks all you need to do is back up to the outside of the map where you spawned and wait, that should net you an easy 4-5 kills as they have no idea where you are shooting from with your unsilenced gun. move a bit then rinse and repeat.

thats why i prefer the objective based games.

demolition & domination on sumit is normally great fun, my favorite map so far i think, i love nuketown but it can be a bit too chaotic at times

i was playing hardcore search, but with no bomb defusing sound and also no idea where the direction of gun fire is coming from its nearly impossible to play, only way to play is to rush and plant then camp in a corner, dont bother putting silencer on,no1 can hear you anyways, unless there in ya bag on your back.

I don't understand your rage post?
Those are the same things you raged about in COD4 and MW2 yet now it's a treyarch fault and IW made a good core game?

:D

I complain that's what I do :)

I did indeed complain about a lot of stuff in those games and so did everyone else. IW did make a decent game but they got loads of things wrong aswell, which they never fixed. But atleast in MW2 I can get kills on a 2 bar connection, yet in Black ops I'm losing 4/5 1 on 1 firefights when I am on a 4 bar connection and It's not because I can't aim or because I don't know how to play.

I've already said I would give it a chance to be fixed, but if that doesn't happen soon it will get traded in for Asssassins Creed on the 19th.

This game seems broken in all honesty with respect to the sounds. Everybody appears to run around with the ninja perk on. Not being able to hear people approach from behind when the FOV is already fairly limited is a massive fail.

Really enjoying the multiplayer.

I think it's better then MW2 and on par with the first in terms on online fun.

I've not played too much of the single player but have been left feeling very "meh" honestly when I got in to the trenches in the vietnam part it looked and felt like a reskinned WaW :(

Finished the Singleplayer campaign, and wow...I was not expecting half of that, Fantastic! Multiplayer is good, although I can only play it for about an hour or two at a time before I get too into the game that I need a break(As in like getting angry etc.) But overall, it is good.

what setting are people using for the sound?

i have it set on TV with listen volume set to Low and music turned down to half and i seem to hear footsteps ok using a headset (PX21) it does depend on what area im in though as its quite easy to distinguish footsteps on snow and metal walkways.

it might be that ive been playing WaW for the last few months and never tried MW2 with the PX21's so i may be misunderstanding the problem that a lot of people are complaining about, or maybe its a placebo effect that i seem to be a lot better at this then i ever was at MW2 so i may be overlooking some flaws (or maybe im just not trying my best to find them just so i can complain, as some seem to be :D)

I'm using surround sound headset loud. Its just different EQ though...doesnt make that much difference.

The directional sound is ruined by the occlusion feature which was also in WaW. It makes sound behinds walls muffled, essentially meaning you can only hear well when there is nothing around you. Treyarch simply needs to allow us to turn occlusion off in the menus. PC players can do this through the console.

thought the above quote was interesting in regards to sound.

SERVERS ARE AWFUL. Getting a game as a party is lucky, nothing else.

They have all this money and know it's gonna sell loads but they don't get decent/enough servers.

Call of Duty: Black Ops is currently being patched by Treyarch following complaints across the online community of ongoing issues and glitches.

Some of the game's teething problems have already been ironed out, with many of the multiplayer bugs such as broken game modes and unstable maps resolved in the last 24 hours. Improved matchmaking and additional online improvements are expected to be made shortly.

Black Ops broke first-day sales records on release this Tuesday with sales reaching $360m, but there have been complaints about the game's online experience has been plagued with performance issues, with the most common complaint being lag.

Treyarch has announced through its official online forums that it has live patched the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC versions and that there are more updates to come, focussing on improvements to online matchmaking and decreasing lag.
