This is my thought. I am in the market for a new job. Looking for financial middle management / sales in the City, or something thereabouts.
This is my FB profle picture -
My questions are: do prospective employers all go straight to FB for a glimpse of the potential employee? Is it bad that my FB picture (which clearly does not show my face) look bad to a prospective employer? (not my hair btw)
It is just that I have been refused interviews recently for no apparent reason. My CV fits the role, and I am happy in the fact that if I get to interview, I have a good chance of bagging the job.
I only ask this as in my last contracting position, I bagged the contract, but was then told by my boss a few weeks later that she had showed my picture to the team before I joined. I was a little perplexed to be honest.
Is having a vaguely amusing photo as your FB profile picture a hindrance, when in the job market, or indeed in general?
