My Pc spec is,

Asus M3A32-MVP Deluxe
AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 965 Black Edition "125W Edition" 3.40GHz
Asus EAH4850 512mb
OCZ 500w (OCZ500MXSP)
Kingston HyperX 2GB DDR2 pc2-8500 1066Mhz

Thanks in advance for replies.

Cheers Raven, I did look at the HIS 6850, its rank 7 on the Benchmark website and I thought it seemed to cheep in respect of its rank?
Also I assume that using a NVidia on a ATI board has no implications?

I should wait a few days , the cards are currently falling in price. You should get a much better deal by the end of the month with all the new models hitting the streets

I can't really see the prices dropping that much from the new cards (presuming you mean the 69xx) coming into the market as they're in a completely different price bracket.

Personally I would go with the 460, more features ect, better cooler. No problems running Nvidia on a AMD mobo.

+ 1

Not that any of the features they provide you are likely to used or see the difference. But I believe in terms of performance the 460 1GB is a better buy than the 6850. I think the 460 would be better at folding if you are into that kind of thing :)

TBH you can't really go wrong with either one. 3 Months ago I got the Giga when it launched and paid £190. it's a fantastic card and overclocks easily and is very quiet to boot.
