Getting a job with National Insurance card?

Hey guys , my national insurance card just came in the post even though i'm still 15 (Birthdays in Janurary), Am I able to get a part time job because I have a national insurance number or do I have to be 16 ? Because I want to squander at OCuk ASAP

You can work from 15. Most jobs won't hire you thou, your best bet is looking into places like Burger King and MacDonalds.

Those places wont hire you under the age of 16 I can say for sure. I think most "official places" wont but dont quote me on that.

Tesco definitely hired at 15 in 2000. As i was 15 and worked there just after my 15th birthday.

Could have changed, worth asking them though.

IIRC if you are under 16 you need permission from your school or parents or something. I know my 15 year old half sister almost got a job in Top Shop or New Look or other interchangable clothes shop and had to get permission from somewhere.

I think most places will only hire >16 though

You can get a paper round or do very light work at 13 but that's the youngest you can be to get a job.

Unless this was 30 or 40 years ago

I started work in my local fish and chip shop when I was 14 and I didn't have to get permission from my school/parents.
