No, its just stupid people using it in built up areas and have no idea of what they are doing.

Why people use it by houses I do not know, go off somewhere in a random direction, find trees, and burn them.

I'm not even going to ask how you've done this Input, I do hope its an accident (Otherwise you wouldnt have bothered posting)...Its just ugh, HOW? Flint in hand, trees near wooden houses, I'll burn them? :confused::confused::confused::confused:

And seriously, why are even letting people on who have only just signed upto the forum (Unless of course the admins know them REALLY well)

Meh, this is the one reason I dont build with Wood atm, cause someone else will just come along and burn the thing down

Flint in hand (lighter tool) should now no longer start fire on the server

It does not make any difference how long or how many posts a member has before they can join the server. I don't know any of you some of you have 10,000 posts & been a member for 8 years but.... I still don't know you & it does not make you anymore of a better person then someone who has just joined.
I ask players to be a member of the forums as it's my only very weak safe guard against players being a pain.

I can & will ban players but its very dangerous ground for what reasons I do give bans out.

That was about 250 trees and my treehouse which took ages to build because I had to keep growing trees on top of trees.

It is actually quite useful when used responsibly, for example, I would quickly chop down the trunks of several trees leaving the just the bundles of leaves, set fire to those which clears them with no floating blocks of trunk material as this is chopped down in advance, this saves a huge large amount of time not having to chop away all the leaves individually leaving the ground clear for replanting. Also if you have some annoying animals trapped inside your structure, you can ignite the ground around them (lasts only a couple of secs) this is quite an effective way to kill them off.

The key of course if to check the area and spacing in advance to ensure you don't set a forest or house fire. Preferably never in a densly populated area.

I would rather flint was left intact as it is a useful tool in the right hands :D

Upto you obviously.

So flint is now not working? Fair enough I guess

I love the server dude, I just dont want it to get ruined by people misshapping or messing about etc :(

well all the people who've siggne dup in this thread are friends of the people already playing who vouch for them.

As I said, I just hope everyone who is on the whitelist is trustworthy (After the first fires that is etc)

Anyway, not going to get into arguments :p
 
I will be adding some rules soon on the first or second post on this thread.
Now the server is getting more busy & a larger player base is using it we are starting to get some issues that need rules to keep it a happy place.

Shame we need them, but probobly the best bet :)

Could always add stuff to the MOTD? But then again you probably dont want that getting too clogged up :p

...Have you not seen fire spread from tree to tree in real life? :p

I'd say there'd have to be a fair few squares between them...I'd happily test but seeing as we can't use flints now i'll have to come up with another way :p
 
Hi chaps.

I have just bought this game. Will play by myself for a bit to get my head round it but hopfully can join you chaps in your server soon.

I see there have been a few problems with fire etc but as I run my own clan with two servers (BC2 & MoH), I hope this goes some way to show I can be trusted. :)
