Fitted the coilovers today:

I didn't take any pics of the car after fitting them because I set them to the same height as the lowering springs that were on the car, but here's a reminder of the ride height:

I have the coilovers set to pretty much the exact same height, maybe just a *tiny* bit lower at the front.

It's having the welding done tomorrow, then I can get the MOT and then I'll fit the manifold and get it on the R/R finally :D

Get those doors with the one piece windows :)

Don't do that, you'll ruin its old early mode looks!

Echoing Lopez comments, get some grease/lube on those threads or you'll never be readjusting them now its salty road time!

And in the last pic on the catch can the pipe goes down to the oil filter, not venting to atmosphere? Where does it connect to down there?

Love the car/wheels/stance!!!

The coilovers came with a can of lube spray, I gave the threads a liberal coating of this :)

The breather that leads under the carbs goes to the OEM breather port on the front of the block.

I know people who will lube the threads on the coilovers, adjust them then wrap any exposed thread with electrical tape...sounds a bit ghetto but the lube alone tends to attract road grime and dirt which is what clogs things up come adjustment time.

As for the car itself...really like the look apart from the shinyness of the 'show' cage! Incidentally there is a near identical looking car in Wolverhampton, same colour and wheels, only difference is your crosshair lights...

I've said it before, but bin that bloody roll cage, it takes away from the car in my view. Other than that looks really good.

I'd totally agree... is it even a real one or a 'show cage'

Seems a shame as the rest of the car looks really cool to me, especially as you've done it all on a budget

are Ronal Turbos the ones made of stainless steel ?

They're polished alloy.

It's a show cage :o I know I know, but I like the look. It was always going to be controversial, but come on, which of my cars haven't had at least one dubious mod ;) Anyway, I made a separate thread when I first installed it, plenty of discussion in there ;)

At the end of the day it's your motor but maybe a black cage would look more subtle.....and real?
