Minecraft OCuK Forum Members Server Thread

gar, can you add my brother to the whitelist please.

j0nn13

He's been playing on my server but no point since i'm letting the sub subside at the end of month

We do have an actual griefer on the server somewhere. I was playing last night, when I burnt down my trees, rad will remember. I showed off my 9 button combi lock to a few people. I come back an hour later to find a bunch of the redstone circuitry torn up and some switches missing.

Aye. I found a few smashed glass blocks in the farm and a tree planted inside..

is there a log or something to track stuff like that?

I don't think so...At most I think theres a way to chec who logged on and when.

Anyway, you can get 'areas' protected so only one user can edit that area.

But naturally its getting someone to do it for you :)

Is getting whole areas protected something that is complicated/time consuming? or is it viable for the admins to protect the main structures of each person (at leas the structures that are complex/time consuming to rebuild)?

I have always said I am happy to protect players work I did four last night.
But few players have taken me up on my offer.

With the shop being setup I would think players work being griefed is going to go up,
all that nice lightstone you have there is worth a few OcUKs on the server shop.

I will add new players to the whitelist tonight weekends I will always be abit behind due to kids not being at school.

I still have server rules to add & shop to finsh.

lightstone can't be bought or sold yet so hopefully not a problem atm

Any update on when hell will be available or what the issue is with it? I could realy use some lightstone to replace the several hundred torches I currently use.

Rail doesn't cause lag, it's just if you go any distance in a cart the world doesn't load for you and you get stuck in limbo and have to use /spawn to get back.

This is ture, just loaded a week old worldsave before tracks & there was still the block respawning while mining lag.

Update
Block respawn is a bug & while I am taking about bugs

Furnaces eating materials

A lot of people are reporting that their items are being 'eaten' when placed into a furnace. This bug seems to happen when a furnace is placed next to another furnace, a workbench, or a chest. If the furnace is not touching any of these things, it will work normally most of the time.

When you use a furnace, it will usually turn to face you. If it changes direction, you will lose everything inside forever.
The best way to ensure this doesn't happen is to build holes in walls that only 1 have opening and place your furnaces inside. (also ensuring each hole is not connected to any other chest/furnace/workbench)

My three where doing that, but still burning, if i just left them the items would turn up eventually

EDIT

Space my furnaces a block apart, and they still ate my stuf!!

Fort Boyard almost done, well when I say Fort Boyard there are no Tigers, Midgets, Dirty Den or The Messenger.

Plus it might not really look like Fort Boyard.

Sooooooooooo.... :p

I'm currently hacking my house to pieces, building into the mountain...Wish I had a seperate office :o

I gave up trying to work with redstone circuits underground so I decided to scrap everything I'd done and bring it above the surface to work on.

So far I've cleared an area near my house which was fortuitously cleared of trees recently. I then paved over it with refined stone. It's a 64x64 area so there was quite a lot of baking stone involved, 4096 pieces worth :)

Here it is all laid out ready for the circuitry:

With the furnace bug.... disconnect, reconnect and look in the furnace. the stuff reappears! I find it happens if you put stuff in the furnace and then add more of the material you are burning (iron ore or whatever) a disconnect and reconnect gives you your items back 100% of the time in my experience, this is providing you don't keep adding to the furnace once it has eaten your items.

Nice to know others are having the same problems mind. Another bug seems to be that you can use an item to the brink of its death, throw it on the floor and suddenly its a new item. Seems the second you throw it the item becomes a new thread instead of retaining its damage. Handy with diamond axes granted, but clearly an oversite with the programming.
