I've seen it a few times before, I don't think there's anything too much behind it. Correlation and causation not being the same thing after all, I'm not getting too deeply into whether the percentages are correct or whatever but even assuming they are - as there becomes a bigger percentage of people in an identifiable group they start to exert influence on society, this doesn't really constitute a surprise for anyone does it?

No, you're not wrong to be concerned about crime but you'd be wrong if you're only concerned about crime committed by people who were not British born. I don't really care where my crime comes from - it's not as if it's better for me getting pickpocketed by an honest-to-goodness British criminal, maybe the money is slightly more likely to stay in the country but that's a remote enough concern not to be worth worrying about.

Crime is crime regardless of skin colour or immigration status. My comments are based upon the topic, that being one of immigration.

I equally condemned the violence by the students this week.

Anyway, people seem to be complaining about foreigners all the time yet seldom complain about the state of the majority of actual English people, especially the youngsters today who are the very people who will grow up to be voters and tax payers and beyond. With their lack of spoken English skill and in most cases, written too.

Yes, I am on about chavs, neds, townies and the like!

You'll see them shouting their nonsense in Youtube videos of protests and anything where a bunch of them are together.

Is that the Britain Lab grew up in? No it certainly isn't but immigrants didn't suddenly invent chavs either.

And what about the reverse? I'm on a student visa which means that i'm not allowed to work, claim benefits etc. (except for NHS which i've used two or three times since coming over 5 years ago). I'm supported completely by my parents, who are living in India. They send across thousands of pounds every few months to pay for my fees (which are a lot higher than local btw), rent (and before you bring in the '25 people in a house' rant, I live alone), food, living etc. Therefore, that is money coming into the country rather than any in the least bit going out.

Even when my mom was here with me (and working so paying taxes etc., my dad was in India and still sending money here rather than the other way around.

Don't just examine one possibility while ignoring the other.

Last time I checked, France and Germany both have a bigger immigration "problem", be it in absolute numbers or as a percentage of total population. That said, it could have changed in recent years.

Even if it has, I don't see how that is too relevant here. Maybe they can speak rudimentary English and have an easier time settling in here. Maybe they prefer the weather here. Maybe their family have spoken to them of the glory of London, the British attitude to multiculturalism (true or not), the beautiful country or the dozens of other wonderful things you have in your country. They've clearly not come to the UK just for the sake of ransacking the country, so why does it matter?
