I too am expecting to be a little disappointed with the game, as its been in development for such a long time that its simply just not going to be all that we, or I expect.
The physics and handling need to be 100% spot on, as when you look at the track listing, well its not really giving anything we’ve not seen before. Therefore I am hoping that the physics and damage model is up to par with the development cycle.
GT games have though always started slowly, as in you trundle around in a 100bhp shopping cart, unlocking licenses and moving up the field to the 600 +bhp behemoth skylines (JTCC or whatever its called over in Japan). I’m hoping the game follows the same formula as lets be honest, that works as once you get into the better class cars, the sense of speed and sheer excitement GT games have given once you get into the top class cars is and has always been very rewarding.
So, it we’ve got this with updated physics and superb crash model with the already fairly good handling, then GT5 should be good. But, as been mentioned, reading some internet comments, it might falter in the wake of Forza 3. Now lets not get into a Forza3 v GT5 debate…. However I’ve played Forza 3 to death and I think it was a very good game, so GT5 needs to be exceptional to not disappointment me after such a long development and being very impressed with Forza 3. On 24th of this month, all shall be revealed hopefully and I can make my own mind up as to how good the game is and has it been worth the wait.. I really do hope so…
I’ve already sold my xbox360 as it RROD and MS replaced it FOC and so flogged it as I got bored of Forza 3. As good a game as it was, you do bore of them… Wait and see eh?
