Taken on a recent road trip to the South West in October and November.
A few shots from Las Vegas and Valley of Fire State Park.
More from Las Vegas in November at the end of a very long PP queue.

Lots more and larger at Nevada

Thank you, thank you very much for looking :)

I'm sure no 8 looks familiar ;)

No 10 around the Rainbow Vista in VoF? Looks like the same area as my 'Yellow' entry. Will take a look through your Nevada gallery to see the things I missed when I was over there. I presume you hired a car rather than took the tour to the VoF since you stopped at 'Elephant Rock'

Great shots dude, 1, 2, 3 and 10 for me stand out. In fact I really like number 10. Great vibrancy throughout though.
Thank you very much :)

Very familiar :D
I didn't see it from that angle though.
No 10 was taken maybe midway between the Rainbow Vista area and the end of the road.

A similar shot is featured in the "Photographing The Southwest - Arizona" by Laurent Martres (well worth buying the entire series).
But in the book it doesn't say it's VoF, but as soon as I saw the view I hit the brakes, got out and took a few shots.
I hired a car in LV and continued to Mesquite, instead of going back to LV.

I think hiring a car / motor home would be ideal for going to places like the VoF as well as the Canyon / Zion since there are various camp grounds so you can spend the day / night there and take advantage of the sunset / sunrise light for photographs. Its one thing i missed out on with the trips i bought since it was just midday sun i had to deal with. I'll know for next time though :)

Number 10 is the pick the bunch, good tonal range and an interesting composition. The others do nothing for me, but probably just because I don't find them interesting rather thany specifc factor.

Hope you enjoyed the trip.

10 is fab!

great colours in them all too, good stuff.
Thank you :)

Hiring a car is the way to go, that way you're in charge.
With tours you've got to leave and stop at locations when they say so.

The only tour I took on the trip was to "South Coyote Buttes" and "White Pocket".
And that was because a high clearance 4x4 and road knowledge was needed to get there.
A rental SUV would have got stuck.

Stunning! What great pieces! That road begs long exposure at dusk!
Thank you :)
