Car private plates ?

Im considering buying a private plate and a good one has come up for under £1k.

Problem is, regtransfers tell me they can only supply it if i have a car to register it to, and cant supply it as certificate only.

I dont understand this and it doesnt say anywhere why, but basically does this mean i register it to my current car for £1k and then when i sell the car i have to buy the plate again to put it on the next car ? I cant see how this works tbh ?

IIRC you can transfer it to another car for around £80. You don't need to buy the plate again.

When you go to sell the current car you would go to the DVLA to put it on retention so you can then apply it to your next car. I believe

Yeah and surely any motors threads by twoblacklines should be deleted rather than moved or he's just found a way to get around the ban by posting motors threads in other sections.
