Anyone with the same card having low FPS issues? I've clocked the card to 800 and I'm still only getting 40-50fps....or is this normal?

FRAPS showing some serious low frames during a decent action scene...rest of rig in spec

No it's not, the game runs perfect on my system, no issues what so ever, haven't run fraps yet but played game through with no slow down or lag or jerkiness or anything, I'm running 4890CF, others have reported no issues with their set ups either, there seems to be a minority of people who keep trying to say it's "buggy" but no one will actually quantify it

Minority? must be a big minority.

Thats a massive minority. Go and have a read of the PC Games section Black Ops thread

Ok granted haven't checked game thread, but I've asked several times in this gfx forum, in multiple threads, for people to explain what they mean by buggy, and each time there's no response, added to that in these threads there's quite a few others posting with no issues whilst running lower spec systems than those with issues, leads me to believe it's problem with those peoples systems rather than anything else, or simply people claiming it to be buggy cos they've heard others say it but haven't experienced it themselves otherwise they'd happily quantify/evidence their claim when asked
This is an enthusiast forum, unfortunately an amount of people tinker with their systems too much, the average user which prob accounts for 90-95% of people playing game do not and I suspect won't be having these "issues" (yes this is a purely speculative statement but I'm yet to see anyone back up their claims of "bugginess")

Bottomline is the game should work fine for EVERYONE out of the box after standard installation procedure when they got a fast enough PC, not just for 'majority' of thepeople. When there are so many people are having the same issue with the game, it is a game related problem, even if it is compatabilitiy issues with certain hardware, and need to be fixed (via patches etc if possible).

I don't know why 95thrifles feel the need to defend what is clearly a problematic game...:o Yea, 7 guys out of 10 jump off a building didn't die, and 3 guys that jumped off didn't survive, it is because the 3 guys didn't jump off the building 'properly', not because the action of jumping of the building itself has high chance of killing them lol

Yes everyone else, as stated above, in the threads in this section, the majority of people report no issues, a minority (less than 50% (definition) more like 25% at an estimate) report issues, but again, as already stated, I have challenged these people to quantify what they mean when they say "it's a crap game it's really buggy" and I get no replies, they just ignore it and move onto different topic
So you've got 1 person saying one thing, 3 saying another and one of the 3 challenging the 1 to explain and they don't, what am I meant to think? Oh well cos the 1s saying everyone else is saying it, clearly us 3 must be wrong, go figure

I play Black Ops with a group of 5 or 6 friends. On release the game was almost unplayable for all of us. It was so slow. It stuttered and was so jerky. IIRC there was some issue with a steam process hogging your CPU. This is over a range of very rapid gaming PCs of different specs. The first patch has gone a long way to resolve the issues, but it is far from perfect. I'm sorry but i fully agree that its VERY badly coded, as has been proven by a massive improvement following the first patch.

Great gameplay, just terrible code for launch.

I am merely asking what the reported issues are??? No one seems to be willing to say, the only time anybody reported a specific problem was Rroff claiming it has Xfire issues, yet I run Xfire and have no issues, I asked him to explain the reported issues and got no response, most other comments are the general "it runs crap" or "it's buggy" again with no explanation when I ask why? If you want to elaborate I'll happily listen, my point before though was that as no one so far will, I am (not unnaturally I think) merely assuming this is another case of people jumping on the band wagon

to define what I'm seeing as buggy - basically i'm not getting smooth game play. When i was playing it last night (Single Player) i would quite often get stutters about every 10 seconds. running dual core E8400 and CPU usage was more or less maxed out on both cores, GPU usage was at 50%.
If i compare that to a friend who is running a Q6600, he has no problems and the CPU usage while playing the game is 1%.

I've a q9550 with a mild OC to 3.1 and I'd have thought that along with the 460 it have would have let me play it at good frames considering MW2 I can max everything out and get over 80FPS all the time.

I just thought I'd be able to do similar with black ops :/

Any chance that the game hates Core2Duo/Quad CPUs (poor porting etc)?

Tbh, I have the rig as per my sig, and whilst its not horrendous, I do get the odd bit of near 100% CPU usage and a bit of lag as a result.

Its not a game breaker for me but still a joke considering my CPU should be more than enough and shouldn't be going anywhere near 100%.

I did wonder if it's another bad port, so PC's once again look bad thanks to shoddy development?

When you think about it, it should run just fine considering the XBOX 360 is basically using a 1950 with 4X hardware AA.

Ok fair enough, I'm running my [email protected], can run higher but find I don't need to, as I say I've not run fraps so don't know my actual fps but I do personally find it runs smooth, subbytna is 40-50fps not smooth or is it just you want a higher number?
Uvo sounds like it does in fact need a quad core then from what you're saying, have you tried playing round with some of the settings to see if you can reduce CPU load?
