David Cameron just said the Cabinet cheered and banged the table when news of the Royal Wedding came out today. I bet they did !!!

What a terrific smokescreen taking the focus of them for the next 12 months. I bet they couldn't believe their luck. Something to create a false, Feel Good Factor, while they cause millions to be made redundant and pickpocket the rest of us.

More likely because they can bury some other bad news today that wont even be picked up on by the media :)

The torture payouts to those former Guantanamo inmates I reckon. When you think about it that case is absolutely outrageous, but it will be forgotten as today is a good day to bury bad news.

The country is broke as ****. Cuts have to be made. Stop whining.

It's quite right they should be happy - a royal wedding is something to be celebrated.

Stop trying to make a mountain out of a molehill.

I'm too busy working and earning money to care enough about people who can't make an effort in life

Think I'm in the majority

Let's have your alternative then.......

Spunkey, I concur wholeheartedly. No doubt the tax payers will also have to fork out for the usual pomp and ceremony that accompanies anything the inbreds do.

I almost fell over when I heard the news a while back that Liz had applied for a poverty loan for repairs to Buck House. You couldn't make it up.

The point was really that I don't think all the members of the Cabinet were so damn excited that William was getting married that they were banging the table in joy for him. Anyone who thinks they were all that happy and excited about a wedding deserves an Uber Gullible badge. Most of the cabinet wouldn't even go that far over the top or get that demonstrative even if it was their own children.

So why were they so excited? C'mon. I'm not saying they engineered it. I'm just saying they couldn't believe their 'kin luck.

Yes, the country is in a financial mess but it is equally stupid to blame that on the small percentage of unemployed lazy b's in the UK. There will be a lot of hard working folk put out of a job through no fault of their own. I just get very sickened when folks act like those people deserve it. The fact is that there will probably be a higher percentage of those folks left out in the cold than there will be of uber lazy, but employed, corridor cruisers pretending to work in hospitals or government jobs, etc.

If the government wants to save money make a £50K a year lazy clipboard patroller redundant rather than three £17K a year hard workers. That makes more sense financially as well, because you then only have to pay out one lot of dole not three. The trouble is that the Cabinet are either are too devoid of intelligence and can't work that out or they have too many clipboard cruisers in their own families or tennis club. With this government the folks they are putting on the dole and p'off will not be their traditional voters !!! I call that tantamount to Gerrymandering.

so much cynisism on these forums...

It's about time that William and Kate got married, as ole charlie boy said "they've been practicing long enough"..

Congratulations to them I say, and lets hope they don't screw it up like his parents, his aunt, his uncle.. etc

Oh and as for the banging on the desks.. well.. in formal situations, especially the military, applause is considered rude, and tapping one's spoon upon the table is the done thing.

Why can't people grasp that this, harsh & unwanted as it it, is the direct cause of the previous 13 years?

Yes, the coalition are making us suffer, thats above dispute.

But to say they are the cause strikes me as blinkered.

Medicine usually tastes awful.

As for the soon to be married, good luck to them.
