It's good, will bring in a crap load of money for ages, they do a lot of good for our nation, the old commonwealth, less fortunate countries.

The brothers always come across as very down to earth, funny, very active in the millitary.

Don't like celeb tv etc etc so won't be following this wedding much but good luck to them.

To be rid of the Royals would be silly, gives us something that few other countries have.

the royals should support their own existence not get hand outs from the government. This is just a political ploy to divert public attention from the shoddy spending cuts, just like thatchers government with their royal wedding

This is wrong on so many levels.

It is a nice bit of news that may well lead to me getting to spend an extra day with my family if it is a state wedding with the accompanying day off. Good luck to them both, though with the media attention it is going to be tricky.

A bit harsh.

Yeah, you're right. I don't actively oppose them, but I don't sing their praises either. I'm perhaps more indifferent than anything. I do commend the good work that they do and they didn't choose to be born into their status, I just oppose the idea of an unelected monarchy in theory. They don't have any real, effective power and don't particularly influence my life so let them be.

I want to be pessimistic and crappy about this - but honestly, I think it's brilliant.

Why *shouldn't* we get excited about such an event? All people keep saying is "oh they're interrupting TV schedules" "oh think of the tax payers money that will be wasted".

We've lost our national identity, and generally how to celebrate any occasion that doesn't directly affect us.

Royal weddings of this calibre only happen once in a blue moon - William is second in line to the throne, logic dictates he'll one day be king so we're seeing our future king get married, is how it should be viewed.

Totally agreed.

I don't really care for it. Wish them the best of luck as a couple but I don't see the need for such a fuss. The royal family are going to come under a lot of pressure if they have a lavish state wedding while the rest of us are headed for a major economic down turn and a new age of austerity.

Will Prince Harry's father be invited to the wedding do you think?

Lol, i wonder

Common misconception. Diana didn't meet Hewitt until May 1986, when harry was already nearly 2.

In addition, they were forced to have a paternity test that showed they're both Charles' children. The red hair is a Spencer trait :)
