New NFL Season

So everyone excited for this weekends action? I honestly cant wait for the soap opera of the Redskins vs Eagles! What will the Shanahans do with McNabb, especially now JaMarcus is in the camp? Will they bench him again?

Also, watching Michael Vick is always fun, especially now hes added a laser arm to his running game.
 
I dont know, but I think under Andy Reid at the Eagles he had much more license to throw under a west coast offence scheme, whereas Shanahan prefers much more running and hand offs.

If we could have him as a direct replacement to a pure passer like Favre with our offensive weapons I think he'd be happy.
 
I was reading on nfl.com yesterday that McNabb has attempted to start contract negotiations with the Skins but they ain't listening at the moment. If he becomes a free agent at the end of the season (again) then the league is his oyster. Providing there is a 2011 season that is as the lockdown looms larger every week it seems.
 
The Browns V Jets was an awesome game, real edge of the seat shout at the telly stuff. After watching the Browns for 3 years and them being utterly useless, They are really looking good this season.
 
Man I am loving Troy Smith of the 49ers at the moment, he's really grabbed the jersey ala Brady of 2001 and is throwing that rock like theres no tomorrow. Really good fun to watch, just a shame the 49ers defensive line cant get it together.

Loving watching my Eagles demolish the Redskins, I didn't really ever like Mcnabb for some reason, didn't seem very dynamic, with Vick now it's quite the change!
 
Vick is fantastic, not scared of getting hit when he's running with the ball

Didn't see second half, if it went like first then that would have been mental score!

Are we talking about the Same McNabb (A guy who is in the top 10 of NFL Mobile QBs) When he was drafted he was an extremely off the cuff/play what you see QB but that doesn't fit with the WC offence that Phillie run. Reid didn't sign a player to fit the system but tried to change the player to fit the system (with some success)

Vick is superb, I've always loved the wildcat option, yet having Vick seems to give you another dimension to that as well!

I've only been into NFL for a few years so I'm only going off what I've seen. To be fair he doesn't have much to throw at at Washington other than Santana Moss so he's going to struggle in general but I've just never seen him act on anywhere near the same level as Vick in terms of mobility, no-one comes close. Hell, Vick's 40yrd dash at the Combine as a rookie was faster than most of the top WR's!




I'm loving our offence in general this year, with the O-line performing amazingly, having Vick as a QB/RB and general wildcat issue for teams then people like DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin and Jason Avant having hands like glue, even Harrison at RB running riot at the moment, everything looks promising. We need a bit of work defensively, we were made to look better than we are for periods yesterday with the Redskins issues with 3rd down conversions.
