Going to Brighton looking for a restaurant

Going to Brighton to see Tim minchin on mon 13th December and looking for a michelin star level of dining for lunch. wondered if any of you have any suggestions?

Jamie Oliver has a restaurant in town, there's probably a website somewhere, not sure exactly how good it is. Other than that I'm not sure, I can't really afford to be eating out at that level. I'd be interested in hearing where you end up going though

There's not a huge amount on offer at that level in Brighton, try the following;

Don't know about Michelin level, but a couple of good ones:
- Pho is a nice Vietnamese.
- Food for friends is quite nice too (veggy though).

At the cost of being staffed by a bunch of pretentious tossers.

I don't think anything mentioned touches on Michelin star status - don't really thinks theres much like it down here in Gayland.

Nearest are Chichester and Cuckfield, both are a mission.

Jamie's Italian is great and not massively expensive.

It's not exactly Michelin star worthy though.

Have been to Havana a couple of times myself, gets a vote for being pretty decent

Was down there last weekend; In Vino Veritas is very good, though apparently the stuffed pepper is a bit meh.

Also went to Terre a Terre, which I wasn't impressed by but everyone else was.

While not michelin star, the Hotel du Vin in Brighton is nice. I like the Chili Pickle in the south lanes too. La Fourchette gave us a cracking meal a few months back.

Browns is nice. I was there on Saturday night and it's a great atmosphere with great food

Not Michelin Star though.

I can't think of anywhere that has a michelin star in brighton, however The Ginger Pig has an excellent reputation.

Jamie's Italian is great and not massively expensive.

I agree with this, and as said, Browns and Hotel du Vin.
