...it probably is. Right?
There's a listing on eBay - £300 for a Blackberry Torch (no link because I'm not sure if it would be breaking rules) but the catch is that they do not accept PayPal because 'there is a problem with their account.'
I know, alarm bells should be sounding at this point. The seller has an immaculate record as a seller and buyer though and eBay rules state every auction must accept PayPal, so even though they claim not to accept it, I can pay by PayPal anyway. My temptation if I were to buy it would be to pay via PayPal just to see what happens. As far as I am aware direct bank transfer cannot be reclaimed without Police or Small Claims Court involvement.
I understand it may be because the seller is tired of PayPal & eBay's exorbitant fees (I know for one that I am), but I'm at a loss as to whether or not I should do it. I guess there is part of this blackened heart that still thinks that there are good people out there every now and then.
Normally I'd just move on to the next listing, but it's my 21st today and I woke up in the mindset that I'd treat myself, being so far away from home and family and set myself a limit of £300 (otherwise I'd go mental and buy a new car or something on credit)...
...and yes, worst 'it's my birthday thread' ever. Beat you to it.
