insulating a 10' x 8' shed / outdoor office - who's done it before?

they won't match the seconds place as it's not considered like for like and if you've gone to the builders merchants to get the price per sheet you're as well to buy it rather than travelling about to another shop to save about 3 quid, it's only a shed the guy is doing!!
(also had problems with wickes not matching products exactly from merchants, but suppose if you're paying enough attention to xr/fr etc you could do it)

That's odd, they should do. As long as the product is the same, heck I match prices with products that arn't the same, but similar. If you haven't guessed I work for them, seems like the Wickes you goto the management seem a bit on the tight side.

Good thread, I'm intending to do this so I can chuck my pc outside free up the spare room.

i agree very useful i'm looking into getting a log cabin in my garden and need to insulate it make it into a small bar with pool table and booze great way to socialise and great way to get an extra room

http://www.foil-insulation.co.uk/ see if you can get a small roll of this type of stuff somewhere, jewsons, bq etc, will be so much warmer than anything mentioned like kingspan or fibreglass. easier to do aswell and no mess or itching....might be a tad pricier but if you can get a small roll would
be good. Its about 10mm thick but is equivalant to a hell of a lot of fibreglass or kingspan, just staple it to your studs then plasterboard over.

failing that, just put kingspan equivalant or rockwool in.

which one?? i will quote you in any dealings i have with them from now :)

that foil stuff looks good for somewhere the space is limited, if you can find it at a decent price it's probably worth getting! I'm suggesting kingspan/celotex as it's something i know to work, but usually on a new build wall where the studs are empty so makes sense to fill them with insulation, but the foil looks good for retro fitting...
