Why do so many women smoke?

I'm very anti-smoking , if i go near the stuff it makes my eyes well up and go red and my sinus's start to play havoc. Also i hate the smell! , at the end of the day i'm not the smoker and my lungs are cleaner. But i won't force this view onto others!

But on topic why is it so many women smoke? , there have been a number of times in the past that i've avoided a nice looking woman because she's lit one up. I even said sod it during one part of my life and went out with a smoker. At first it was fine , as she either wore a patch or never smoked near me but the instant she got stressed or worked too much the smoking got worse and worse. The clothes stunk of it , kissing tasted of a cig end and a number of times she'd smoke before sex which was instant turn of. I can't help the fact that it turns me off , i can't help the fact that i just don't like it.

So many times i've spoken to girls and suddenly " yeh i smoke " it's like they are proud of it. I just spoke to a girl tonight we got on really well on the phone until she said " I smoke a lot , i'm a heavy smoker at work it relieves my stress ". You guessed it , instant turn off oh... ok :| . Some of you may hate me for it especially the smokers , but as i said i HAVE given it a chance in the past. :( , it just seems to be the british woman who likes to smoke and less so the blokes or foreigners
 
Weight control, peer pressure and insecurity lead them to smoke.

Besides, smoking is so uncool now that it's cool. Especially pipes :cool:
 
I smoke but I'm the worst smoker ever, cus all I ever do is think of the non smoker, sometimet to my epic own fail!

but anywho my partner gave up now she tells me to give up, which is fine and right but I cant help thinkink i'm blatently cooler cus I smoke, and she's frigid :D
 
I'd say foreigners smoke even more. Italians, French, Russians, Ukrainians, all smoke massively compared to us over here in my experience.
 
Smoking has always been a huge turn-off for me too. Something to do with seeing my grandad dying of lung cancer before I was 2.

My earliest memories are playing with him. The next ones are sitting on his hospital bed.

Anyway - instant turn off. Pretty much no matter how good looking a woman is, if I found out she smoked I wan't interested.

I don't know any girls that smoke and rarely see any do it. :p

Guess it depends really, a larger proportion of women that go out to pubs and clubs in non student areas will smoke than the population as a whole so if you meet women there then that will be why.

I agree though, wouldn't go near a girl that smoked. I dated one once that started occassionally smoking about a month or so in, could always taste it on/in her...:/
 
Wrong people? , well they didn't seem wrong at the time :p. I'm just unlucky i guess lol and i tend to avoid nightclubs personally i've done those days :D

i was in madrid airport just after the smoking ban in uk and they have dedicated smoking rooms in the terminals we don't have that yet in the uk.
 
Just an observation, but it's been nearly an hour and a half and the militant pro-smoking brigade haven't been on to fight their side.
 
Don't know a lot of people that smoke any more, it's pretty much on it's way out compared to what it was some years ago.

I guess you have been a bit unlucky :p
 
Wouldn't life be harder if there were too many women to chose from, so you don't like women who smoke, whats your point exactly, they should all stop so you have a larger pool of women who can reject you?

Some people smoke, some don't, some people find it a turn off, some a turn on, some don't care either way. Why make a thread on it, I find stupidity the third biggest turn off in a woman, I'd say uglyness is my biggest turn off, fatties second, stupidity, then a whole list of other things.

Everyone has dozens of things that puts them off specific women, again, whats your point?

You don't like smokers, don't marry or date a smoker, I don't like women who are peadophiles, like most people, so I won't date or marry one.
