Stupid Nurse :D

Given blood 5 times now and never needed a second attempt to find a vein though I have quite good vascularity on my arms.

Last time the nurse just yanked the needle out like ripping a band aid off. That was unpleasant.

Surely its better that they got the blood out of you eventually than you having to go back once you'd grown better veins, also if they do find anything the chances are you'll need a endoscopy which is far more invasive than little needle holes!!

When I was in hospital I had a Doctor take 5 attempts at getting blood from my left hand. Eventually he called a nurse. I didn't complain. Those guys have a tough enough job. Nurses too.

Buscopan isn't for stomach pains it's for stomach cramps (well bowel cramps actually) and what is your mother doing prescribing you drugs? Is she a Doctor?

Oh and as for your whine. I've spent 35 years being treated by the NHS and trust me that a few pin pricks is nothing. I have to endure much worse just to keep me healthy. Do I moan and complain? No, I'm glad the NHS is there too keep me healthy (and alive!)

Man the **** up!

The worse thing about this OP is that not only is he a total wimp about things that children have to go through but that was going to ****ing complain and get someone in trouble.

Looking at the OP's location. Is Limavady even a thing? What?

Also, never, ever take a pop at nursing staff unless you're prepared to do and put up with the same kind of **** they have to, day in day out. You're pretty lucky to have these people looking after you even when things don't go quite to plan.

It's on the north west of NI - all that is near Limavady is a big prison with some sea. They probably had a few hours drive to get to see the aforementioned nurse in the first place! :)

Driving hours just get beaten up by an evil nurse with a spear is not fun!

Has the OP scarpered?

well heres the story
went to the doctors today because of the stomach pains ive been having every morning for the last couple of months. he recommended to take some tablets(buscopan etc.) but my moms already been giving me these tablets, so he told me ill need a blood test because it could be the acidity of my stomach and maybe it needs to be lowered down. so went to the room where they take your blood. an old woman was taking my blood, 1st try missed the vein so didnt get any blood. second try on the other arm(right) missed the vein again, so she started wiggling the needle inside my arm. third try she had to call two other nurses to find a vein in my arm, and one of them did on my left arm. so after three tries they finally got my precious blood and they took 3 little tubes of it.
now the thing is,, i now have three ****** needle holes in my arms. do you think i should complain?(if theres anything to complain about). even my mom said it was unnecessary and shes a nurse at a care home....what do you think guys/gals?

If you are any older than 17 i'd be surprised... man teh **** up.

"Should i complain", get a grip, these people are trying to help you and everyone makes mistakes.

When I was at hospital and a training doctor tried to take my blood he took literally about 3 minutes to find a vein (and still didn't) and I could see the damn thing myself, and nearly took the needle off him to do it myself too. After about a minute of trying he started sweating and getting really embarrassed, eventually a nurse came and did it for him. She took about 10 seconds.
