Just had a card through the door ... apparently whoever was sending me something paid 10p too little for the postage .... you would think that I could just give the postie 10p for my parcel?

Oh no, I have to go to the Delivery Office with 10p PLUS £1 handling fee (fs, why is there a handling fee) :/
 
Because they've had to send someone out to you with a card, and handle the parcel until you collect it :/

Don't want to pay £1.10? Don't go get your parcel.
 
I've had this before, just to top it off I went to the Post Office and they couldn't find the item and had to go back again the next day :mad:
 
What extra effort and manpower :(

Besides, it's 10p on about £10 worth of postage if I'm right as to what parcel they have (some new exercise stuff) :(

Because there is extra handling? And also to discourage people from underpaying.

Also it's an administrative nightmare to have posties handling small change from customers.

So let me get this right, becuase someone you know or have delt with is too retarded to put the correct postage on a parcel it is the Royal Mails fault? Of course they are going to pick you up on this and make a charge, if they didn't everyone would put the wrong amount on and then the Royal Mail would be even more screwed than it is.

Don't take your RAGE out on the Royal Mail direct it at the idiot who can't post things properly.

PS If your postman really does only come twice a week (seriously doubt it) then have you complained about it? The man is paid to deliver your mail and failure to do so is a sacking offence but if the Royal Mail don't know how can they fix the issue? Sadly I expect your just mouthing off and have no proof he comes twice a week :rolleyes:
 
Shoot the seller for thinking to cut down on postage not the poor postie. As the seller didnt check they caused the problem not the Royal Mail.

I understand they could have knocked the door and asked but I still think its a non issue.
 
Best one was when I got a computer game delivered from the USA as it wasn't available in the UK. Cost £20 which meant I had to pay VAT on it, fair enough - it's only a couple of quid extra. But noooo, UPS charged me an extra £10 + the original VAT because they paid the VAT to get it through customs.

All things considered, an extra quid ain't so bad - take it up with the sender or just don't collect the package.
