Design a logo for a dog rescue?

You're welcome.
It's for dogs, not rabbits.

I know these kind of pics have always tried to appeal to the sypathetic side of us, but people have gotten used to that and a little desensitised I think. For example when one of these adverts comes on do you watch it properly or is your first impression "another one of those" and you switch off? Perhaps it's worth trying to make the dog look cute and happy with it's tongue lolling out and maybe a child smiling and hugging it instead of looking sad and wanting to die? Maybe come up with a new slogan focussed around some admirable traits dog traits. Perhaps something about a dog's loyalty, maybe "A friend for life".

Just my 2c. Anyways for my sarcastic funny comment how about a slogan like "Makes wicked sick farts!". Never understood the term "wicked sick". Sounds so dumb.

Hi, long time lurker, (nearly) first time poster.

A friend of mine runs a dog rescue centre and they are taking in more dogs than ever this year, to the point where they are having to expand and start some proper advertising to try and raise more funds and awareness of the dogs they have available.

Someone has already volunteered to create them a new website but their existing logo/letterhead is awful - a bizarre hand-drawn dog with a suitcase in its mouth. :o

Could anyone possibly come up with something? Totally free rein, they don't have so much as a colour scheme at the moment, it just needs to include the name 'Adopt-a-Dog'. If you can work in a dog carrying a suitcase, I take my hat off to you!

They will of course be happy to give you a mention on the finished website or, if you have a company/website of your own, stick some advertising in their next calendar. :)

Many thanks in advance.

I was going to put a pic up of Lily Allen and write "Dogs to adopt lolz" but I cba, so can you all imagine it please.

Thanks.

I totally understand your point but they do have some pretty depressed-looking dogs in at the moment, the one currently at the top of the adoption page has got several inches of metal bolted through and sticking out of his back leg. If people want to do cute and cuddly that's fine, like I say there's no theme as yet and anything must be better than the sad camel they currently have.

Very kind of you to offer but between us there's three journalists, an English student and a freelance copy writer - just somewhat lacking on the IT and design fronts. :p

David91 and Archangel:

Thanks a lot. I'm now laughing like some mental case in a quiet office, trying to keep it in as much as possible.

Can't stem the tears though.
