xbox 360 slim dead on arrival

OH how flipping predictable I could even feel it before I turned it on. Red ring on a 360 slim 250GB arghhhhh:mad:. I got it working for an hour updated and played in HD with no problems go to turn it on this morning again and its back!! How can it be broken then work then be broken again wthhh!!
 
Well I don't know but I do recommend you put it back in the box you got it in and take it back to where you purchased from and ask for a replacement.

Or if purchased online RMA it.

Its a dud machine, it happens and time to get another one and not worry about it. Its fully covered so no panic.
 
I know that, however difficult to send back I think I'm just going to have to make a trip tommorow into one of their shop's and ask for a replacement.
 
Erm....AFAIK the 360 S doesn't give RROD.

Fine 'RED DOT' :p.

Well I will give you the full story, (yesterday) briefly worked first time via HDMI. Restarted 'red dot' no matter how many times replugged including the HDD it didn't work, decided to also leave it on for a bit and no luck. Later on in the night decided to use the standard YWR cable and it magically worked, switched back to HDMI and it worked. Played a game briefly and it froze, this also happened on the dashboard. So I connected to the net did all the updating then played some halo reach and black ops for an hour in HD no freezes nothing.

Today turn on 'red dot' appears again, which makes me more angry because I thought it was fine. GAH FML.
 
Have you tried the console without the HDD in?

Also tried different plug sockets.

It's unfortunate when things 'half work'. I want it to be either broke or working :p. Meh I will take a trip into town tommorow, I would have thought they'd give me a replacement if in stock, as dead on arrival is pretty pathetic. Otherwise I'm screwed in regards to sending it back.

Yeah of course I can get a new one from them and I will do :mad:. Just peed off that it wouldn't even work on day one and it's not easy to return when you work during the week -.-

Atm I keep turning it on/off and hoping it decides to work before I ring support. :/
 
Why ring support?

Does the company you bought it online from have a retail chain of shops? If so just pop to a store.

Yes they do, I'd just rather not waste a trip to town if they can't do it :) but it seems they can and I'm going to get it sorted tonight. Their the no1 for games in the UK and they like the colour purple :p a hint as to who they are :cool: Thanks for the help anyway guys lets hope this one works ;)
