Anybody use or have used them before?

Would like to space my rear wheels out a tad as they look a bit lost.

I understand Hubcentric Spacers are the ones to go for as they support the wheel correctly, are there any drawbacks to using them?

Will tyre wear increase as a result of fitting them? Will there be any effects to the handling of the vehicle?

Thanks :)

Hubcentrics are much better than universal spacers (and a hell of a lot more expensive too)
You will not really notice much difference with them being on the back.

Its about £50 for a pair, which i didn't consider to be too bad really.

Not sure what size to go for either, they seem to range from 5mm up to 25mm ish (for my car anyway).

Well, have a look at where your wheel sits now and decide how much further out you want it!

Yeah, i was more worried about tyre wear, for some reason i am under the impression that the more you space out, the greater tyre wear is?

hubcentric spacers are the only ones to use, go for alloy rather than steel as the steel ones are very heavy, KW or Eibach are about the best, and then FK are slightly cheaper.
Depending on car and thickness, you may need longer bolts / studs.

Most spacers over 20mm have the option of bolting to the hub and then the wheel bolts to the spacer, saves using really long bolts. THey can theoretically put more wear on the bearings due to the load being further away from the hub.

Correctly fitted spacers won't increase tyre wear as they don't affect the suspension geometry

I've got 25mm spacers fitted on my car and haven't noticed any difference at all. If you can find a set for decent money I'd say there is no reason not to get them if you think it will improve the look of your car.

Thats the only reason for getting them really, the rear wheels look very tucked in under the arches where as the fronts do not, looks a bit odd :)
