i assume someone wants a race they post in this thread you read the post and add that person as friend and they invite you to race.

Set up, Restore backup, sync over 1500 trophies (2+hours), install GT5, download about 60GB of PSN games, 10GB of patches and 5GB of music. God it is going to take a while :o

Took me 2 days - over 150Gb in the end and Ive not even put in my game discs to update yet...

TBH guys - whatever you think best really. All I intended to do was get a list together as the MP options arent that well detailed but are meant to be pretty powerful/flexible.

Im sure we will have adhoc races but the idea of events/time trials (like the TG track thread) seem are great idea. It seems to make sense to have the whole adhoc racing in here (or in a PS3 chatroom that Ill get around to setting up) and then maybe any great ideas of events can be put into their own threads (so they become a series or something) - just keep the discussion of ideas and the adhoc stuff here?

Im sure there are more knowledgeable MP racers here that can think of some cool ideas...

Every single GT game I've played has started slowly, you think you're in a shopping trolley. Its when you get to the more powerful cars do you start to get a sense of speed...

One of the things I've always hated about GT games, the start of a fresh game where you've not imported a save or something means you end up thinking the game is on a go slow.. Its always been the same..

Once you upgrade or tune the car, it becomes better. Braking and accelerating is painful to start with... And getting those damn licenses..

Forza 3 did seem to be a little more instance, anyhow early days yet.

That looks very much like GT4 to me, hope that isn't GT5 as if it is what the heck have PD been doing for 5 years..??
 
Can someone please tell me, out of 50 odd skyline models, why PD just couldnt add 1 extra one in that just happened to be my dads car >> R33 GTST, one of the most popular skyline models in the UK. :/
 
I don't know why the R33 GTS-t always misses out, it certainly deserves inclusion but PD have never seen fit to add it to any of their games as yet.

Regarding that MX-5 model, that is GT5. The reason it looks like GT4 is because it's a GT4 model, almost all of the standards are. They use the GT4 photo mode models which were higher resolution than the ones you would race with. I can't explain why that MX-5 looks so bad in that shot, but it probably received less touching up compared to the others since there are quite a few premium MX-5's in the game.

It's also important to remember that when you're driving around in the new lighting engine, the standard cars do not look that bad at all, even when racing against premium cars.

I saw this on another forum...

I did more research. The F430 can have both, GT5 detects which shifting method you are using and uses the corresponding animation to match the method, which is really awesome.

So possibly the user has a wheel with a manual gear stick and is using that?
 
Yes it has both, but not at the same time that car interior clearly has flappy paddles.

I'm not sure that the game detecting input method then applying the wrong gear change animation is 'awesome'.
 
Hey guys :), Had a shock last nite :( Checked our play order and my gf has bloody, Had it delivered too my mums address, Where i havent lived for 5 years lol :(, Really really gutted by this means i wont be able too play it for another few hours more :)

Had a bit of a row about it last night with her... Then i realised im 28 and its only a game, Reality check :)

Still i cant help but be really gutted, Feels rather sad being 28 oh well, Life time gamer
