So it's that glorious time of year again. Dozens of presents to buy for friends, family and other halfs. Let's make it easier on ourselves and share some ideas we have for presents.

It would be handy to break it down into presents for friends, presents for family and of course the most important presents for your other half (girlfriend/boyfriend/wife/husband).

So I guess I should get the ball rolling though I really have precious little ideas and some of them are very obvious and boring.

Book/DVD links:

* The Bro Code

* I Hate Christmas: A Manifesto for the Modern-day Scrooge

* Mushrooms and Mankind: The Impact of Mushrooms on Human Consciousness and Religion

Generic:
* Magazine subscriptions (see pr0n below)

* Booze!

* Vehicle/Bike Cam.

* Nerf Guns! [1],[2],[3]

* A lump of coal??

Friends:
* Guns!

* OCUK vouchers

* Fancy european beer.

* Paintball or similar voucher of some description??

* Pr0n

Family:
* Books, have a sneaky look around what books they have to find authors they like, that way you'll seem like you know them well and you can make sure it's not one they already have :)

* The usual, DVDs, games etc.

* Waffle iron! Who doesn't like waffles?? Same for donut maker.

* If they like to cook then maybe recipe books or equipment.

* Rubik's magic, just to make christmas even more frustrating. :)

* Magic Wand remote control.

* Transformer Spastic.

Other Half (either):

* Some sort of joint activity (s)he enjoys (paintballing again as an example)

* Suggest buying something together, some sort of massagey sex chair apparently.

* Private toys

For Him

* Bosch Tassimo

* A nice watch (mostly for guys).

For Her

* Weekend at a nice hotel, spa if you can afford it. Go all out with a different country if you're really loaded.

* Perfume, old, obvious, boring but if she can't afford a nice one herself she'll still love to get it from you! Same goes for flowers, they're classic presents for a reason.

* Concert tickets, Take That for girls who like them.

* Weekend cruise on the Thames/nice river near you (ideally delayed a few months perhaps until it's warmer ) You can usually rent a cruise ship for 3-7 days and sail around yourself. It's a good chance to get your captain hat on and have some true alone time with your loved one.

* Shoes, and a shoe closet if it's gotten that bad.

* Clothes, but for the love of God don't get it wrong.

List is constantly being updated so come back to see more ideas and let's hear all your ideas, if we combine our knowledge this could be the easiest christmas shopping ever :D

This is a great idea!

A certain Jersey-based online retailer is selling DVD box sets with % off at the moment. So I picked up Dexter for my sister.

It's November and Christmas lists get done in December.

Bah Humbug :p

My sister helpfully pointed out that it's only 5 weeks to go, in that time I might force myself to go shopping maybe twice so I need to know what's good to get :p

And I agree, Jersey based retailer is always good for a few presents :)

For your partner you could agree to buy something that you both want together. For example.. this year my wife and I aren't buying each other presents, instead we're buying one of those fancy massage chairs for ourselves, they're about £220 in HoF.

List updated with the two suggestions so far, need more, especially for the girlfriend side of things!

I think mag subscriptions are wicked - a gift that appears for the next 12 months!

If they're into airplanes, cars, consoles, PC geeky mags...theres so many out there. And deals to be had with the Xmas offers.

Updated the list, keep the ideas coming!!

Urgh, i hate vouchers. Why not just use money? It's a voucher that you can spend at any shop you want!

I always wondered that, I guess it shows that you put some thought into what they might like.

Bump for more ideas, help us out if you've thought of something great for a girlfriend or whoever.

One more from me for the girlfriend, weekend cruise on the Thames/nice river near you (ideally delayed a few months perhaps until it's warmer :)) You can usually rent a cruise ship for 3-7 days and sail around yourself. It's a good chance to get your captain hat on and have some true alone time with your loved one.

"Let's make it easier on ourselves and share some ideas we have for presents."

Lets make it very easy and not buy presents.

This takes a little gumption but if you are prepared NOT to receive presents then you don't HAVE to give them.

Agree not to do it amongst the adults in your family - of course the kids expect but keep it simple.

I usually leave it late but I got my Dad a Magic Wand remote control. Just agreed with my sister to not bother as she lives in Oz so it is a pain anyway. It's her birthday in January though and I got her a really old school Rubik's Magic which is a brand new original one from the 80's. :D

Dunno about my Mum yet.

I think I am treating my GF to another pair of shoes for Xmas, despite her already have a sizeable collection, she just needs another pair of Christian Louboutin's
