I have a artic cooler freezer 7 pro. Unfortunatly i have a core i7 920 c0 which needs a lot of voltage for a 3.8 OC which the freezer 7 pro cannot keep cool. Can i get a decent cooler for 35 quid that will help keep my processor cooler for a high OC?

At that price range there a few good'uns, the Akasa Nero S, the Venom and the Fenrir are all cooler capable of taking an i7 to 4Ghz.

for £30 you can get the Thermalright IFX-14 for either AMD or Intel sockets - couple that with some decent fans and you should be on a winner :)

Don't see why not... I'm running a Thermalright Ultra 120 with a single fan at 1.42v and it does a cracking job

Granted it's an Antec tri-cool blasting away at 2000rpm shifting nearly 80cfm - but it's still only one fan :)

Get a couple of vipers on that and you'll be well away :)

This. I just bought Thermalright IFX-14 and have a Akasa viper fan. I am waiting for another viper fan so that my cpu cooler becomes a killer:cool:.

If I get an IFX-14 I'm going to rig up three vipers for a full on through-flow effect ... not sure how much benefit it'll have over a standard push/pull setup but it'll certainly look beefy lol

Installing the heatsink for the first time is a bit of pain in the ass with the mounting kit. In the instruction manual it says to spread thermal paste on both the cooler base and cpu. However I did that with mx-4 on my first go but found the thermal paste to be too much on both Q6600 and IFX-14. So I reapplied just the horizontal line method on my Q6600 and placed the heatsink directly on top of it.

Yours is a dual core mine is a core i7 quad though. Wouldnt my chip run a lot hotter at 1.4. I need a cooler than can keep we at 80c or below on 1.4 on a 4ghz OC.

Most of the comparisons I've seen have put the IFX up there with the Noctua DH-14... Plus the Vipers have an airflow of over 80CFM so with three of them through the IFX you're talking some serious cooling

As for voltages on the i7, I wouldn't have the faintest tbh, but the cooler is up to the task - just keep an eye on your temps as you clock it up...

Failing that, it's custom water time :)

How would you go about fixing 3 fans that cooler?

One pushing from ram side, one in the centre pushing/pulling through both towers and one pulling out the rear of the heatsink...

like the Silver Arrow or Noctua DH-14 setup, but with an extra exhaust fan :)

No, i mean how to pysically install them

Do they come with the necessary tools?

They probably come with two set of fan clips so you would have to buy another pair. You don't really need 3 fans, it made very little difference when I did so on the Silver Arrow.
