The EVO X now sounds as it should do - Milltek Fitted!

"I've just had sports exhaust fitted and it is just as quiet on the motorway as before" shocker.

I don't believe it.

You seriously don't believe it?

Because you should as its the truth, cruising along the motorway at any speed the car sounds no different. If you accelerate then yes then it sounds different, much better.

Its possible it sounds different on the outside yes but to me the driver and likewise to others with EVO X who have fitted the Milltek at cruising speeds its no different to the stock HKS.

This is why the Milltek is very popular on the EVO's, when your cruising the car sounds like stock, quiet. When you WOT it sounds far better. Plus the Milltek unleashes a good fair few horses at the same time. :)

To be fair it gets gradually louder after 1,500 miles.
I though my Eisenmann was really quiet when it was fitted the other week, but it's getting progressively louder.

It's a shame that you can't really hear it inside the car.
I need to hook up a mic to the speakers :p

Sounds a lot better than stock IMO, on a (nearly) new expensive car like that you definitely don't want an overly loud and boomy exhaust! Still doesn't sound as good as a scoob though ;)

sounds nice
i hate those very load pipes you see some with
they sound like the cars doing 90 when there really doing 25 and they end up driving around trying to keep the noise down, so i dont see the point in having them

The place I got my exhaust said that an E92 M3 gained about the same (~36bhp) after fitting an Akropovic.

Probably just overfuelling due to the map being a mile off:p or do Evos have fancy ECU's these days?

I believe its actually the opposite, an FQ-360 stock runs very rich, I believe the fitting of a much free flowing exhaust leans the mixture out more and increases the boost slightly resulting in the good gains.

I've done some testing today, the car is much faster:-

30-70mph is now 3.5s, previously it was 3.9s
60-100mph is now 4.6-4.8s, previously it was 5.6-5.8s and thats just using 4th gear, no changes needed.

So sounds better and certainly goes better.

The extra grunt is really noticable from 2500rpm upwards, corner exits are a lot more fun. :)
