right, the missus just recently (like week ago) got a 250Gb xbox 360 for her birthday along with guitar hero warriors of rock, today she has said its started randomly freezing up during gaming and then freezing on start-up. now i have heard lots of xbox 360 related problems (even though mine is a venerable old battlewagon, that survived being dropped with no ill effects!) but surely the thing can't be damaged, it is afterall brand new, hell the manufacture date is something like september 2010 or something. anyone else have this problem and anyone got a solution? thanks in advance wise forum people!

thought these were meant to be new, improved, 'reliable' machines? its only been used for about a total of a day and its already broken! what the hell are microsoft paying their people to do? can a company as huge as microsoft not make a console that works properly as advertised without having to get a replacement every twenty minutes? cheers for the inconvenience microsoft! 
They are, but as with all electronics you sometimes get a faulty unit. Your replacement will be fine

you will always get some faulty units whatever you buy. but i think its safe to say that the new xbox is generally a lot more reliable.
just unfortunately you got a duffer.
