what fans to buy

As they will be used on a fan controller id personally say these.

Yate Loon 120 x 38mm D1SL-12D, cheap as chips, but seem to be hard to come by at the moment.

Or the normal 25mm yate loons are good also, and cheap. Especially if using on a fan controller.

This always comes up and i always say the same thing Yate loons are cheap but push as much air as other stupidly priced fans get the 2200 versions and use your fan controller to get the noise under control.

I really cant see the point of spending 3x the amount!

Dont take specs at face value they are usually false!

I personally use vipers on my Rad, simply becuase i control them via PWM, and the asus fan control software. I didn't have space for a fan controller.

But totally agree with sayso, can't beat the yateloons, especially combined with a controller.

+1 spending £50+ for four or more fans is mad (4xAkasa Viper £60 anyone? You'll be livid if they dont live up to the spec).

Put it towards a better rad (bigger/thicker/better made) or better waterblock/fittings, then use the cheap yate loons (4xYL £16 +£25 fan controller and its still cheaper)that will only have to run at 1000/1300 rpm for any half decent rad, whilst being virtually silent.
