IMHO at setter. Sli 470 £400 and the best he can do is hang the fan via a dirty old shoe lace, come on m8. :D

Well at least he get's 9/10 for British Enginuity, nice one m8. ;)

Lol, not quite £400.00 mate, (390.00 iirc), but it works:D, was either that or a new side panel for my Lian Li A70F case at 60.00, definitely not pretty tbh.:o

Im running two gigabyte 470 oc models, both clocked at 751 mhz, with the garish fan mod above they hit 79c in heaven bench, 76 in game on the rather crap auto fan profile.

Indeed, Ingenuity at it's best :D

Just needs to watch the fan cables ;)
Thankfully RJC, theres no cables in the way at all, spent ages getting the cable tidying right on this case, finally got it sorted, then with the second 470 i had to make it look bad again, but it works, best mod ive ever done, only cost 99p, thats for the intake fan in my 3 5.25 bays, (99p elastic, g string fine elastic). The bootlace was free.:D

I have seen and I have cabled tied them in place before but this is a first for me. As above though, if it works then fair play.

Would the lace absorb vibration and the cable tie "allow" vibration?

Thinking about it I would have thought it would depend how it was attached but yes probably would be better with a lace. I suppose it depends what you have lying around at the time.

I thought this thread was going to be a play on words, and that some chap from blighty had invented a new super-duper engine to revolutionise transport...

But no, just a typo :p

this is epic! £400 worth of graphics cards being "cooled" by fan on shoe lace! legendary...

...by the way what do you guys think is the easiest way to add a second 120mm fan to a titan fennrir cooler?
