Now I'm back in the world of normal cars that don't need specific tyres I was wondering what I should be considering for the focus.

It currently has 195/60/R15 H rated Hankook Optimo K415's tyres. These seem fine, but are down to about 2.5mm of tread.

Back when I had my Puma I know you could get GSD3's for quite literally £35 quid a corner, but I have no idea what is good in this tyre size.

Suggestions on a postcard....

Some good suggestions, I think the R888 is the best though :)

What do you want from the tyre? Life, comfort, performance, costs? Would you consider a winter tyre? (/can of worms)

888s on a focus......

You're mad, why the hell would he want those.

When he goes and replaces all the suspension stuff with Cusco, Spoon and Mugen parts and takes it to Tony at WIM for GEO GEO GEO he'll be cornering so flat and inch-perfect he'll need to have as much mechanical grip as he can get!

While there is a thread like this I'm in need of some front tyres in 245/35/19. Main requirements are low road noise and all round grip.

I had Bridgestone Potenza RE050As in that size and I absolutely loved how they behaved :)

I was of course joking.

245/35/19 - low road noise and all round grip? Try some R888s. :D

On a serious note, you're pretty much limited to performance tyres in that size so comfort isn't going to be great on anything.

The Uniroyal Rainsport 2 might be worth a punt as we're coming into winter, and it's one of the more comfortable performance tyres that excels in the wet.

I hardly think being "limited" to a performance tyre on a car like a Monaro is really too bad a thing really.

Who puts eco/budget tyres on a 400bhp muscle car?
